Is Doodle still free? Free plan limits in 2026

Last updated: 14 October 2026

Short answer: yes, Doodle still has a free plan, but it now allows just one group poll with up to 10 time slots. You and the people you invite see ads, and reminders and deadlines are paid features. If you're asking this question, you've probably noticed that the free plan doesn't do what it used to. You're not imagining it.

What Doodle's free plan includes in 2026

As of October 2026, Doodle's pricing page lists these limits on the free plan:

  • One group poll
  • One booking page
  • One 1:1
  • Basic sign up sheets

The pricing page doesn't tell the whole story. Doodle's help centre has a free vs. Professional comparison that fills in the rest:

Doodle FreeDoodle Pro
Group polls1Unlimited
Time slots per poll10Up to 1,000
Booking pages1Unlimited
1:1 meetings1Unlimited
Sign up sheet sessions20Unlimited
AdsShown to you and your participants, unless they have a paid Doodle accountNone
Reminders and deadlinesNoYes
Hide participant detailsNoYes
Video callsGoogle Meet and ZoomAdds Microsoft Teams and Webex

The 10 time slot limit is the one most people run into first. If you want to offer every evening for two weeks, or a few times across a handful of days, you'll hit it before you hit the one poll limit.

What Doodle's paid plans cost

Doodle's advertised prices are per seat and assume you pay for a year upfront. Paying monthly costs more. The monthly prices below are worked out from the savings Doodle shows on its pricing page.

PlanBilled yearlyBilled monthly
Free$0$0
Pro$11 per seat per monthAbout $15 per seat per month
Team$16 per seat per month, 2 seat minimumAbout $21 per seat per month
EnterpriseFrom $15,000 per yearNot offered

For a team, that adds up quickly. On yearly billing, Team starts at $384 a year for the 2 seat minimum, and every extra person adds to the bill. Doodle notes that prices vary by location and team size, so check the pricing page for your own numbers.

What changed

Doodle built its reputation as the free way to find a time that works for a group. Over the past few years, the focus has shifted. The free plan shrank step by step, and the changes came gradually rather than in a single announcement:

  • Polls: the free plan went from unlimited group polls to one.
  • Time slots: free polls were capped at 20 options and are now capped at 10.
  • Ads: ads became more prominent and are shown to participants as well as organizers.
  • Settings: deadlines, reminders and hiding participant details moved to paid plans.
  • Mobile app: in June 2025, Doodle paused its iOS and Android apps while it rebuilds them. You can still use Doodle in a mobile browser.

The product is now aimed at teams and organizations, with plans running from Pro up to an Enterprise tier that starts at $15,000 a year.

Doodle's own pages don't agree

If you've found conflicting answers to this question, part of the reason is that Doodle publishes conflicting answers itself. Here's what each of its pages said when we checked in October 2026:

The pricing page is where Doodle sells its plans, and the help centre comparison is the only page that lists every limit side by side, so those are the numbers we've used above. The blog article is a marketing roundup, not a plan description.

Is Doodle's free plan enough for you?

It depends on how often you schedule. The free plan works if one poll is all you need, with no more than 10 options to choose from, and you don't mind your participants seeing ads.

It stops working if you need more than one poll, like a committee meeting and a social event in the same month. It also stops working if you want to offer more than 10 dates, if you need to send reminders to people who haven't voted, or if you're sharing the poll with clients and would rather they didn't see ads.

That's a legitimate business choice, and if your company schedules client meetings all day, Doodle's paid plans may serve you well. But if you're the person who occasionally needs to find a time for a book club, a committee, a rehearsal, or a team catch up, you're no longer who Doodle is building for.

If you just need a scheduling poll

That's the gap Rallly fills. It does one thing: you suggest some times, share a link, and everyone votes on what works. Here's how the free plans compare:

Doodle FreeRallly Free
Group polls1Unlimited, up to 3 open at a time
Options per poll10Up to 100
AdsYes, for you and participantsNone
Open sourceNoYes

On Rallly, participants vote with just the link and never need an account. Everyone sees the options in their own time zone, and finalizing the date and notifying everyone is free.

To be equally transparent about our limits: on Rallly's free plan, you can create as many polls as you like, but up to 3 can be open and collecting votes at a time. Finalize or close one and you can open another. Without signing up, you can have 1 open poll at a time, and the same applies: finalize or close it to open another. Free polls are deleted once all their dates are at least 30 days in the past and nobody has edited, voted or commented in the last 30 days.

Rallly is also open source, so you can inspect exactly how it works and even host it on your own server.

Rallly makes money from Rallly Pro, which adds features you'd want if you use it professionally, like unlimited open polls, custom branding and polls that stay around indefinitely. That's what keeps the free plan free, without ads, for everyone else.

$11 per seat per month if you pay for a year upfront, which is $132 a year. Paying monthly works out to about $15 per month.

Not at the moment. Doodle paused its iOS and Android apps in June 2025 while it rebuilds them. The website works in a mobile browser.

Is there a free alternative to Doodle?

Yes. Rallly is a free, open source scheduling poll with no ads. You can create as many polls as you like, with up to 3 open at a time, and participants vote without an account.

The bottom line

Doodle is still free, but only for one poll with 10 options, and with ads. If that covers what you need, it's a fine choice. If it doesn't, you don't need to pay just to find a time that works.

Create a poll right now. It takes about a minute, and nobody has to sign up for anything.
